Getting There

Rain Taxi’s Twin Cities Book Festival takes place in and around the Progress Center of the Minnesota State Fairgrounds, located at 1621 Randall Avenue, Falcon Heights, MN 55108.There are many great options to find your way there. See below for more information:

PUBLIC TRANSIT

Get a free Metro Transit pass!

This year, you can get a free pass to take public transit to the Minnesota State Fairgrounds—thank you to MetroTransit for their support of the Book Festival!

BIKING

With the Twin Cities’ vast network of biking trails and dedicated pathways, you can easily bike to the Book Festival! Bike racks will be available in front of the Progress Center.

DRIVING

The Progress Center is at 1621 Randall Avenue, Falcon Heights, MN 55108, located within the Minnesota State Fairgrounds. Directions to the main gate:

  • Coming from the north: Take I-35W south. Merge onto Highway 36 East via Exit 23B on the left. Exit onto Snelling Avenue South.
  • Coming from the south: Take I-35W north to I-94 East. Exit on Snelling Avenue, then turn left and head north. Or take I-35E north to I-94 west. Exit on Snelling Avenue, then turn right and head north.
  • Coming from the east: Take I-94 west to Snelling Avenue, then turn right and head north.
  • Coming from the west: Take I-94 east to Snelling Avenue, then turn left and head north.

Enter the main gate from Snelling Avenue at Midway Parkway (at the light), then turn right on Cosgrove Street and head toward the Progress Center. Parking can be found to the west on all surrounding streets; accessible parking spots are located directly in front of the Progress Center.
