Join us to visit with two picture book creators who champion their communities! Kids 4-8 and their families are sure to learn and grow from these beautifully told stories.
11:00 am: Magdalena Mora presents Still Dreaming / Seguimos Soñando (Lee & Low Books), the first children’s book to describe the forgotten chapter of US history known as Mexican Repatriation—and a heartfelt story in which a boy and his family must leave their beloved home to avoid being separated by the government.
11:15 am: Mark Ceilley presents Cinderelliot: A Scrumptious Fairytale (Running Press), a retelling of the classic Cinderella story with an LGBTQ+ twist, featuring ungrateful stepsiblings, a competitive bake-off, and a fairy godfather. Will Cinderelliot live scrumptiously ever after? Come find out!
