New Rivers Press was founded by C.W. “Bill” Truesdale in 1968 out of an old barn in Massachusetts. The press moved to Minnesota in 1978 and, in 2001, it found its current home at Minnesota State University. It is one of the oldest nonprofit literary presses in the country with a dual mission to publish enduring literature written by new and emerging authors from around Minnesota and the world, and to provide academic learning opportunities for students. New Rivers Press finds manuscripts through three global contests and general submission periods.
